Terms of Use
Terms of Use
Welcome to DealerTrustReviews (“Platform,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Use constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User,” “you”) and DealerTrustReviews governing your access to and use of our website, database directories, investigative fraud bulletins, and submission portals. By accessing this platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms.
1. Informational & Consumer Protection Scope
DealerTrustReviews provides public consumer intelligence, dealership status audits, fraud warnings, and community-submitted reviews. The information published on this website is for consumer education, risk assessment, and fraud mitigation purposes only. It does not constitute legal counsel, financial guarantees, or regulatory commercial certification.
2. User Review Submissions & Evidence Standards
By submitting a dealership review, scam notification, transaction amount, or complaint, you warrant and certify that:
- All representations, wire loss figures, dates, and narratives reflect genuine, firsthand interactions with the entity in question.
- You are not a commercial competitor submitting fabricated claims to damage a legitimate business.
- You will not submit defamatory, harassing, or knowingly false statements.
- You grant DealerTrustReviews an irrevocable, royalty-free license to summarize, publish, archive, and display the non-personally identifiable elements of your report.
3. Zero-Paid-Influence & Anti-Extortion Policy
To maintain absolute independence and consumer trust, DealerTrustReviews strictly enforces a zero-paid-influence standard:
- No Paid Removal: Dealerships cannot pay, sponsor, or advertise to remove legitimate negative buyer reports or modify their calculated Trust Score.
- No Status Buying: “Official dealer” or “Verified” designations cannot be purchased; they are awarded solely based on public license audits and spotless operational records.
- Attempted Bribery: Any commercial attempt to solicit paid alterations will be documented and published publicly as an editorial ethics breach.
4. Dealer Correction & Rebuttal Procedure
Legitimate automotive dealerships that believe an erroneous report or identity spoofing issue exists regarding their business have full right of rebuttal. Businesses may submit official state license copies, surety bond documents, or evidence of identity impersonation directly to our editorial desk for verification review.
5. Limitation of Liability & Due Diligence Disclaimer
Under no circumstances shall DealerTrustReviews, its editors, or staff be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from transactions conducted with any business listed on this website. Vehicle buyers must perform independent due diligence—including pre-purchase inspections, VIN history verification, and escrow validation—before wiring funds or signing binding automotive contracts.
6. Prohibited Activities
When utilizing this platform, you agree not to:
- Deploy automated scrapers, crawlers, or harvesting bots to extract directory data or contact listings.
- Attempt to compromise site security, bypass CAPTCHA protections, or submit denial-of-service requests.
- Impersonate a legitimate dealer, consumer, law enforcement officer, or platform administrator.
- Use our contact forms for commercial spam, marketing services, or unsolicited sales pitches.
7. Amendments to Terms
We reserve the right to revise, modify, or update these Terms of Use at our discretion. Significant modifications will be announced by updating the effective date at the top of this document. Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the amended terms.
